I feel as though I ought to explain this one a bit, I originally titled this one second hands in an attempt to reference the hands of time.
But it is now turning into something else
A window pane is springs ironing board, the landscape is pressing in and the “transparent petal” is smoothing it out. It is capturing a landscape of cotton fields and ironing them out in a manner of speaking. In Alabama “Upland”cotton is an abundant crop and is planted in March / April.
A moment is captured, like an island in the sun. It’s a moment that catches a person off handedly and the window pane is there clutching and collecting it all
Creating the portrait of
a springtime harvest
